Stances
Ray Scott is a Conservative Republican. A resident of Western Colorado for 30 years, Ray has built his business and raised his family through the good and not so good times. Married to his wife for 32 years, Ray is a dedicated family man who chose Western Colorado as his home.
He is the District 54 Candidate with business experience in the Multiple Industries that directly impact Western Colorado. Working everyday in Natural Gas, Logistics, and Home Construction/Land Development has given Ray a unique perspective of the issues and problems facing our economy. These experiences give Ray the ability to bring common sense, realistic solutions to the economic problems facing Western Colorado.
Ray will work hard to protect his constituents from the run away taxes and fees enacted by the Ritter Administration and the Democratic Legislature. He understands that JOBS are the number one issue facing Western Colorado. He knows that Private Industry creates jobs not the Government.
Ray will protect TABOR; He will work hard to insure a balanced budget; He will propose the creation of a Rainy Day Fund to protect the state from the next economic downturn; He will protect Education Funding; and he will work to be the voice in Denver for those who feel they have no voice themselves.

n of having a part-time legislature. Our Representatives and Senators are meant to go to Denver, get the job done and go back to work in your community with your constituents so that you constantly understand their needs.
Ray Scott knows that history is our teacher but not our destiny. We have brighter days ahead, but it will take the hard work of all of us to achieve them. Most of all, it will take a leader who is engaged daily within the local business community to truly have an impact in the legislature and represent Western Colorado.
